The Angelo State football team earned another 21-point win last weekend over a strong D2 program and the Rams moved up this week to #8 in the nation in the Division 2 coaches poll. Angelo State jumped up two spots. Three schools from the Lone Star Conference are ranked in the top 20: ASU at #8, UT-Permian Basin at #12 and Central Washington at #18.
Angelo State defensive back Demetrias Charles is the Lone Star Conference defensive player of the week. Charles had two interceptions on consecutive drives in the first quarter of Saturday’s 41-20 win over Emporia State. He returned the first pick 21 yards for a touchdown. The Rams start LSC play this Saturday at Eastern New Mexico at 7pm and listen on 101.9 KWFR-FM
