San Angelo Police Department officials, as well as a few of the city’s north side residents, gathered as Immanuel Baptist Church Dec. 4 for the Northside Advisory Town Hall meeting. According to Police Chief Travis Griffith, the meetings are aimed at explaining what’s going on the the community from a crime standpoint. To do that, Griffith broke a few statistics, including, while San Angelo leads the West Texas area in family violence, the city actually has a lower rate of violent crimes compared to other cities of similar size across the state.
