San Angelo’s new mayor and council members for single-member districts 4 and 6 were officially sworn in at McNease Convention Center on Tuesday. Mayor Tom Thompson recognized outgoing council members Larry Miller and Lucy Gonzales, presenting each with a plaque for their service. After acknowledging outgoing Mayor Brenda Gunter’s accomplishments during her tenure, Thompson presented her with a key to the city- the second ever given in San Angelo. Gunter believes Thompson will continue a focus on quality of life in San Angelo. Patrick Keeley and Mary Coffey were sworn in to represent single-member districts 4 and 6, respectively. The City set a runoff election for single-member district 2 between Joe Self and Dudra Butler. Early voting for the runoff election is from May 27 until June 3. Election Day is June 7.
