A San Angelo teenager will take part in the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North Texas. Sixteen‑year‑old Klan Francis of San Angelo was selected as one of 12 Cook Children’s patients to serve as flag bearers during the opening game at Dallas Stadium. Organizers say the opportunity comes through a partnership involving Children’s Miracle Network, Walmart, and Coca‑Cola. Francis has reportedly been in remission for about a year. Cook Children’s officials say he was selected alongside other patients from across Texas. The opening match is scheduled for June 14.
