Several visually impaired residents in San Angelo are receiving new technology designed to make daily tasks easier. Sight Savers America distributed Ruby 10 video magnifiers this week to people ranging in age from 5 to 73. The portable devices magnify text and images, helping
users read, write, complete schoolwork, and perform other everyday activities. The devices were provided at no cost through donations and referrals from eye care professionals. Organizers say the technology gives recipients greater independence and access to opportunities many people take for granted.
