Over the weekend, the Inland Fisheries San Angelo District stocked the Concho River with 600 channel catfish, just in time for Free Fishing Day in Texas. It’s part of their ongoing Neighborhood Fishin’ Program, which adds more catfish to local waters every two weeks through October to keep things fun for anglers of all ages. Since no fishing license was needed on Free Fishing Day, it was a great chance for people to get outside and enjoy the river. The City hosted a Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday morning at Celebration Bridge, giving kids a fun and easy way to get in on the action.
