The City of San Angelo is reminding families to remove flowers and personal items from graves at Fairmount Cemetery before Jan. 14. Staff will begin cleaning the historic cemetery Jan. 15, and items left behind will be stored for one week before being discarded. The 57-acre site, established in 1893, is a Texas Historic Landmark and the resting place of city founders and U.S. veterans. Items can be returned starting Jan. 30, and more details are available through the city’s cemetery office.
