The San Angelo Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 6‑1 to close Reagan Elementary and Bowie Elementary after the 2026‑27 school year. The closures are part of efforts to address declining enrollment, staffing challenges, and budget shortfalls, and are expected to save the district about 1.8 million dollars annually. New attendance boundaries will be developed and take effect for the 2027‑28 school year as families are kept informed of the transition process.
