The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has stocked the Concho River in downtown San Angelo with channel catfish. The fish were released Friday into Oakes Street Lake as part of the state’s Neighborhood Fishin’ program, which provides convenient fishing opportunities in urban areas. Anglers can fish from several areas downtown, including near The Bosque and Celebration Bridge. Anyone 17 or older needs a valid Texas fishing license, while younger anglers can fish without one. Additional catfish stockings are planned for October 16 and October 30. The program will then pause until April.
